It’s no surprise that Hailey Bieber is trending on Twitter yet again, with her decade-old posts from 2011 supporting her now-husband Justin Bieber and then-girlfriend Selena Gomez surfacing.
She was vocal about being “team #Jelena”, even calling the pair the “definition of a teenage dream”. Her tweets showed an unabashed fandom for Selena and support for Justin, including calling her “flawless” and him “Bieber”.
Hailey Baldwin (now Hailey Bieber) had been loyal to the couple right until May 2013 when Gomez released her single “Come & Get It” and she appropriately called it “HOT”. Who would have known that after 8 years, all three parties would find themselves in different relationships in a very ironic twist?
This recent resurfacing of Hailey’s tweets has sparked conversation online and earned her some flack from Jelenators who wish their favorite couple would still be together today. But it is what it is; sometimes things don’t work out how we want them to…and this case is no exception!
The Rhode Skin founder had been vocal about being part of “team #Jelena” then and had tweeted approvingly about Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s relationship before it ended in 2018. Pictures of her posing on a red carpet with a teen magazine featuring the two also surfaced.
What grabbed attention more recently was Gomez’s response to speculation that she and Hailey had dyed each other’s eyebrows. Kylie Jenner, who is friends with both celebrities, interjected to say that it was unnecessary to make something out of nothing, to which Gomez nodded in agreement.
Both Selenators and Team Justin seemed satisfied until they realized Gomez had subtly defended her friend Taylor Swift against gossip coming from Hailey following their publicized breakup in 2017.
The entire hubbub caused a frenzy on the internet and even ledGomez to take a social media break last Thursday. However, she continued posting content through Instagram shortly afterwards as she became the platform’s most followed woman.
Hailey has not responded to any of the mayhem but turned her comments back on just last Friday. As for Gomez’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber…well he hasn’t said much at all throughout this whole ordeal! It goes to show that some things remain the same even after 8 years; sometimes relationships work out how we want them to, while other times don’t quite turn out like we’d hoped!
