Squid Game The Challenge winner will get enough prize money to retire decades early Wed 8 November 2023 10:54 Updated Wed 8 November 2023 12:16 Celine Byford

Squid Game: The Challenge is possibly the most wild crossover of drama thriller to reality TV show. There’s a fine line between literally fighting to your death like in the original Netflix series, and just having a bit of fun. But with a massive prize money pot, I wouldn’t say no to this challenge.

Squid Game The Challenge: Prize money

Squid Game: The Challenge stars have the chance to win a life-changing prize money pot of $4.56 million (£3.7 million). They’ll be reminded of the amount of prize money they could win during each game.

It’s not quite as much as the original Squid Game show money, which was 46.5 billion won (£35.4 million). At the time, Netflix claimed “the worst fate is going home empty-handed”.

The prize money is the largest single cash prize in reality television and game show history. This broke a previous record of $2,600,000 by Andrew Kravis who ended up winning The Million Second Quiz.

Squid Game show is completely real

A total of 456 real players entered Netflix’s Squid Game: The Challenge in pursuit of life-changing prize money. They compete through a series of games inspired by the original show, with a few surprises!

However, it’s a total mind game, full of strategies and alliances. Their true character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them. But don’t worry, they don’t get killed.

It will only focus on around 30 to 40 players plus peripherals of its 456-person cast. Audiences will meet players properly at the end of episodes five and six when only a few remain.

wait🤔
so Squid Game 'The Challenge" actually got real players from across the world about to die for 4.5 million dollars 🤔

Largest cast in reality history fight for prize money

Reports emerged ambulances had been called to treat real-life injuries sustained while filming the show. Netflix denied the severity of the reports stating the injuries were mild medical conditions.

They added they care about the health and safety of the cast and crew, who were sought from around the world. The local ambulance service also stated it had not been called out to the studios.

Britain’s Health and Safety Executive evaluated the production after these complaints and found no actionable issues. With 456 real players, the series claims to have the largest cast in reality TV history.
