Personal Statement
Hi, I'm Shelly. My passion is volleyball. I have been playing since the fourth grade and love the feeling I get every time I step on the court. It is my dream to play at college while I get my degree. I have set a goal for myself to work hard to accomplish both.
As a sophomore setter, I helped lead my 2013 high school team to the 2B State Championship game. Championship games are what most athletes in any sport strive for. I feel very lucky to have accomplished this. It was a great moment but I left knowing what I and my team needed to improve on in hopes to get that chance again next year. Setting has taught me to be a leader, to play smart, and know how to run the court. I have been told I am easy to coach and willing to learn. I push myself to be the best player I can be. I have a lot of fun each time I play and I love to compete, or should I say "WIN". I feel I am an asset on the court because I know different positions and being able to set and libero is a great benefit to a team. I think these qualities make me a good candidate for a team.
I am different in the way that I am involved in activities and my community outside of sports. For the past nine years I have raised and showed animals in 4H & FFA at our local fairs. This has taught me time management, financial planning, and how to juggle numerous activities at the same time. I feel it made me become very responsible at a young age. I see now that this has helped me be successful in volleyball and softball, along with pushing myself in the classroom. I am a pretty fun loving and social person with a sensible head on my shoulders.Thank you for taking the time to check me out, I hope you like what you see.
