“Sand in My Boots” by Morgan Wallen

“Sand in My Boots” points back to a fling the singer had on the beach, thus explaining the “sand” in the title. And to make a long story short he met this lady, and they hit it off quite well. In fact he was under the impression that she would follow him back home to his ‘hood in Tennessee, and apparently at one point she was down with the idea also. But at the end of the day the vocalist finds himself heartbroken, as he is forced to return home without the woman he has fallen in love with. In other words, she obviously changed her mind. And as such, as he puts it, all he is returning home with is ‘sand in his boots’.

On “Sand in My Boots”, Morgan finds himself emotionally traumatized after finding out that what he thought was the real thing was actually just akin to a fling.
