Rob Machado is a professional surfer with a net worth of $6 million. Born in Sydney, Australia in 1973, Machado is best known for his casual and relaxed style both in and out of the water. He currently resides in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California near San Diego.
As one of the most famous “goofy” foot surfers in the world, Machado has won several prestigious surfing contests, including the U.S. Open of Surfing and Hawaii’s Pipeline Masters or the Triple Crown of Surfing. He hosts the annual Rob Machado Surf Classic and Beach Fair and is still very popular despite retiring from the World Championship Tour.
Machado rose to fame in the late 80s and early 90s along with a group of American surfers based out of Hawaii. He had a famous rivalry with Kelly Slater, with both being considered the best surfer in the world at different times. In 2011, Machado was inducted into the Surfing Walk of Fame.
