Nacho -cheese flavored drink, anyone?
Pepsi is mulling offering such a drink, according to Daily Mail. Reports say that such a soda version is already in the testing period.
"Disgusting though it may sound, the soft drink giant claims it is already testing a special brew among students at universities across the country - and the reviews aren't all that bad," the article stated.
Reddit first cracked the news and the drink is called "Dewitos" drink a combination of Doritos, the cheese snack and Mountain Dew.
Reddit also said the taste of the Dewitos is described as, "... It was like a weird mix of mountain dew flavor and Doritos," The user describes on Reddit. "Like if you shoved a handful of Doritos in your mouth and chugged some dew at the same time."
The reports said Pepsi is also considering flavors such as lemon ginger, mango habanero, and rainbow sherbet.
The Atlantic quoted a statement from a Pepsi spokesperson confirming the possible new flavor.
"We are always testing out new flavors of Mountain Dew, and giving our fans a voice in helping decide on the next new product has always been important to us. We opened up the DEW flavor vault and gave students a chance to try this Doritos-inspired flavor as part of a small program at colleges and universities," it stated.
PepsiCo is also created Frito-Lay, maker of Doritos also owns Frito-Lay, which makes Doritos and marketing and promotion have always been geared up in pairing the two products together.
Whether the product will make it in production and to the stores is yet to be unknown.
However Huffington Post reported that this is not the first time that the company has promoted Doritos and Mountain Dew together as a combined product.
A Mountain Dew flavored cupcake was launched in June by Yu Tube chef Rosanna Pansino.
