Onus Lawrence Obituary, Death Cause – On December 17, 2023, the world bid farewell to a remarkable individual, Onus Lawrence, who peacefully passed away at the age of 100. Born on October 15, 1923, in Marianna, FL, to Onus and Willie Mae Lawrence, Onus lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a love for simple joys. During World War II, Onus proudly served in the Army, leaving an indelible mark as a participant in the Normandy Invasion. Following his military service,
he embarked on a career in sheet metal construction, contributing his skills for many years. Beyond his professional endeavors, Onus found solace and happiness in camping, shooting pool, fishing, and the simple pleasures of listening to music on the radio. Onus was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Addie Matilda Lawrence, his daughter Sandy Crawley, and grandchildren Tammy Allen and David Crawley. He is survived by his daughters Linda McGee of Marianna, FL, and Jan Prevatt of Grand Ridge, FL,
along with eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and fourteen great-great-grandchildren. A man of honor and resilience, Onus Lawrence will be laid to rest at Shady Grove Cemetery in Grand Ridge, FL, on December 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM. Reverend Alvin Roberts will officiate the ceremony, and all arrangements are under the compassionate direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL. As we say our goodbyes, let us remember and celebrate the rich tapestry of a life well-lived.
