Kluwe seemingly has the edge in the punting competition because of his ability as a holder on place kicks. The Raiders can find someone else on the roster to hold if King can't do it. King has the bigger leg and that will help the Raiders win the important field-position battle.
Casey, Jenkins, Robinson, Vernon, McGloin, Thomas and Olawale are all great candidates for the practice squad. Robinson could stick on the active roster if the Raiders don't bring in a free agent from another team.
Veldheer will go on the injured reserve with the designated to return option, but has to be on the final 53 first. Andre Holmes will go on the reserve/suspended list for the first four games.
