Norman Hood, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. He was born to the late Norman, Sr. and Jeanette Hood on July 29, 1937 in Clayton, NC.
He was educated in Norfolk Public Schools, and entered the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country. Norman was a faithful member of First Calvary Baptist Church and served as an usher until his health began to decline. He worked for the City of Norfolk as a Recreation Maintenance Supervisor, and retired after 32 years of service.
As a die hard fan of the Washington “Redskins” Football Team, he enjoyed watching his team play and engaging in football conversation. His favorite pastime hobbies were watching TV, reading the newspaper, lawn maintenance, and spending time with family and friends.
God has loaned him to us for many years and now afforded him a home on high.
His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife Ruth “Louise” Hood of 50 years; son, Shelton L. Hood (Cheryl); daughter, Rhonda Hood McKeithan (Dwight); grandchildren, Brandon L. Hood and Shelton L. Hood, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jah’mir Jackson Hood and Leemoni Jackson Hood; sisters-in-law, Mary Billups and Anne Burgess (Greg); brothers-in-law, Richard Clements (Alice) and Curtis Clements; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
