No, Lizard Lick Towing isn’t coming back to TV despite fan demand Thu 24 February 2022 11:15 Helen Williams

Ron Shirley and his family and co-workers were the focus of a reality TV series back in 2011. The Shirleys shared their lives and the inner workings of their towing and recovery company, Lizard Lick Towing, with the world via a TruTV series of the same name.

In 2022, Ron and Amy Shirley received some devastating news that their son, Harley, had passed away. Since the news hit on February 17th, many fans, friends and loved ones have sent their support to the Shirley family. Many people are still huge fans of Lizard Lick Towing and some are asking if the show is coming back to TV.

What is Lizard Lick Towing?

Lizard Lick Towing is Ron and Amy Shirley’s North Carolina-based towing and vehicle recovery company.

Amy and Ron started their business in 1998 and over the course of 10 years established themselves as a business with 20 trucks and 15 members of staff.

The couple and their business alter became the focus of a reality TV series which often saw Ron and Amy out repossessing vehicles, dealing with the aftermath in the office and having conflict with people who didn’t want their cars taken away.

What happened to the TruTV show?

Ron and Amy Shirley’s venture into reality TV didn’t start with Lizard Lick Towing. They first found fame on another TruTV show called All Worked Up which ran from 2009-2011.

Then, Lizard Lick Towing was formed as a spin-off series in 2011.

Amy and Ron, their co-workers Big Juicy, Krazy Dave Eckler, Bobby Brantley and more all appeared on Lizard Lick Towing for four seasons from 2011-2014. The show was cancelled at the end of season 4.

Exploring the idea of Lizard Lick Towing coming back to TV

The untimely death of Amy and Ron’s son, Harley, 21, was announced in February 2022. Eight years after the show wrapped up, Ron took to social media to share the sad news with his family, fans, friends and followers.

Fans have been paying tribute to Harley and many have been reminded of their love for the show. Some took to Twitter in February to say that they’re still Lizard Lick Towing fans in 2022.
