Melvin Anthony White Sr. – Metropolitan Funeral

Melvin Anthony White Sr. was born August 18, 1943 to the late Theodore Owens and Adelina Brayboy in Norfolk, VA, and lovingly raised by grandparents Henry White and Addie White.  He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1961. In his early years he drove city buses for Virginia Transit. He also diligently worked for the Federal Government at Norfolk Naval Amphibious Base Transportation Department as a bus driver, progressing to an operator, and finally a supervisor where he retired after twenty-seven years of faithful service to his country. Most recently, his passion was DJing for birthday parties, family reunions, weddings, and class reunions. He was a small business owner of Musical Vibes Entertainment where he is best known as DJ Maestro and Big Mel White (BMW). He leaves behind three brothers Kirk Patterson (Dorothy), Theodore Owens Jr, Michael Owens; sister Sharon Cherry; a daughter Nina Hill (James) of Norfolk, VA and two sons Melvin Anthony White Jr. (Gwendolyn) of Chesapeake, VA, and Brian McIntyre (Danielle) of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren; Dominique, Jasmine, Christina, Myles, and Brian; eight great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of friends whom he greatly loved.
