Maribel Guardia husband is Marco Chacón, a Costa Rican businessman.

During an episode of La Saga Live hosted by Adela Micha, Maribel Guardia revealed that her husband, Marco Chacón, played a decisive role in her decision not to have any more children. 

When Maribel’s pregnancy failed to develop, she expressed a willingness to undergo fertility treatment to try again, but Chacón talked her out of it. 

Maribel Guardia husband reportedly told her, “No, don’t do it. I have Julián. The world is full of children and abandoned; it’s overcrowded. It’s a terrible ego to have children,” making it clear that he did not want to seek out another child.

She has also credited him with helping her maintain a healthy work-life balance and providing their family with a stable and happy home life.

Despite their different backgrounds and professions, the couple has built a strong and loving marriage based on mutual respect, trust, and support.

Maribel Guardia’s ex-husband was the late Mexican singer and songwriter Joan Sebastian. 

Joan Sebastian was a Mexican singer-songwriter, actor, and record producer who is considered one of the most influential figures in regional Mexican music. 

Throughout his career, Sebastian released more than 50 albums and won numerous awards, including five Latin Grammy Awards and seven Mexican Billboard Music Awards.

He was known for his distinctive voice and his ability to blend traditional Mexican music with modern sounds.

Maribel Guardia and Joan Sebastian got married in the 1990s. The exact date of their wedding is not publicly known. They met on the set of a telenovela and fell in love.

Their relationship was not without its challenges, however. Joan Sebastian was known for his infidelities, and he ultimately had an affair with Arleth Teran, who was also an actress in the same telenovela.

In a 2019 interview, Maribel Guardia revealed the reason behind her divorce from Joan Sebastian. Although Sebastian had eight children with five different women, Guardia only had one child.

She became pregnant while married to her current husband, lawyer Marco Chacón Fernández, with whom she has been in a relationship for 25 years.

Maribel Guardia reveals the cause of son Julian Figueroa’s death

On April 9th, Julian Figueroa, the son of singer Joan Sebastian and Maribel Guardia, passed away at the age of 28.

The cause of his death was later revealed to be a heart attack. The young man’s body was discovered in a home in Pedregal, Alvaro Obregon, in Mexico City.

Maribel Guardia shared details about her son’s passing on social media.

 In an emotional Instagram post, Guardia revealed that she was at work in the theater when Julián was found unconscious in his room. Despite the efforts of emergency services, Julián was declared dead at the scene. 

Guardia stated that there was no evidence of violence, and the cause of death was determined to be an acute myocardial infarction and ventricular fibrillation.

She expressed her sorrow and requested the press and the public’s understanding of her family’s difficult time.

Guardia also announced that her son’s funeral would be held in private, surrounded by those closest to him and who loved him the most. 

She thanked everyone for their messages of support but expressed that she did not have the strength to respond to them at the moment.

Maribel Guardia husband, Marco Chacón, had known Julián Figueroa from a very young age, and after Maribel’s divorce from Joan, Chacón acted as a father figure for Julián. 

When Julián passed away due to a heart attack at his home in Jardines del Pedregal, south of Mexico City, Chacón flew from San José, Costa Rica, to Mexico City to bid farewell to the young man.

Upon arriving at the Mexico City International Airport, Chacón spoke to the press and said, “It is something unexpected, and the truth is that I do not have much to say. I would love to give you the statement you would like to hear and the note you need, but I am not well, and words do not flow.” 

Chacón’s relationship with the Guardia family has been long-standing and close as a lawyer specializing in entertainment and intellectual property issues.
