Personal Statement
As a student athlete looking to fulfill my lifelong goal of playing volleyball in college my commitment to this sport has only intensified throughout the years. When I was a little girl I grew to love the sport when I would attend my sister's practices and shag balls. Sometimes I even got to play with them. So when I was finally old enough to be on a team when I was 10 I was ecstatic. Although when I was younger I was not the best player, I practiced every chance I got and compelled myself to be the best player on and off the court. I purposely kept my grades at high levels knowing that the higher my intelligence was off the court, the higher it would be on the court. Throughout the years I dreamed of continuing both my academic and volleyball aspirations in college. When I was entering high school, I knew that I was going to need to push myself harder than ever to achieve my goals. As a result, I earned a spot on varsity as a starter, broke a record, and earned the most improved player award, during my freshman year. Though I had achieved a lot I continued to push myself to be the best student and player I could be.
This past season I lead my team as a sophomore captain, and broke another record. While continuing to excel in the classroom by taking on more advanced and honors and college courses. I wish to continue both my academic and volleyball career and will dedicate myself to your college as a student and an athlete.
