Lisa Sthlekar was initially born as Laila on 13 August 1979 in Pune, Maharastra, India.
Unfortunately, her biological parents could not support their newborn daughter and left her in the steps of an orphanage school, Shreevatsa. That is where her fortune shined, and Haren Sthalekar and Sue Sthalekar adopted her.
The Sthlekar couple, who flew to India from Michigan, USA, initially wanted to adopt a baby boy during their visit. Instead, Sue fell in love with Laila as soon as she met her and decided to adopt her in place of the baby boy they were looking for.
After the couple brought Laila back to the United States, they changed her name to Lisa.
Lisa’s father himself was born in Bombay, India and her mother, Sue, is of English descent. Due to her father’s job, she had to live with her parents in Kenya for some time. Eventually, the family settled in Sydney, Australia.
