Lindsay Lohan has had a better year — from returning to the big screen to making her podcasting appearance to now getting ready to tie the knot with her boyfriend, Bader Shammas.
Lohan proclaimed the engagement on Instagram, beside an adorable slideshow of photos of the two. “My love. My life. My family.
My future,” she captioned the images, adding a ring emoji to cherish her real-life diamond engagement ring. Lohan and Shammas, who began a relationship in 2020, have kept their relationship very private.
According to LinkedIn, Shammas resides in Dubai and works in wealth management. The couple’s friends and family felicitated them in the comments of Lohan’s post, including Lohan’s younger brother Dakota, who wrote, “my best friends!”
Once a fixture of the tabloid media, she had many notable legal and personal conflicts about a decade ago, but she has had a lower public profile in recent years. She still has an Instagram following of 9.7 million people, while Shammas has a private profile with just under 600 followers.
How Lindsay Lohan Lost Her Millions
The actress earned a jaw-dropping $20 million solely from her extraordinarily successful acting career. But then she lost millions of her worth.
Brief Business Ventures
Being a young actress, Lindsay was inspired immensely by more adult strong actors who, besides acting, simultaneously started a well-to-do music career.
She wanted the same for herself. She has also sung the tracks of her movies like ‘Freaky Friday‘ and ‘Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.‘
In 2004, her debut album ‘Speak’ was released; although it attained the number 4 spot on music charts, it was not well supported by music critics like Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic.
Lindsay was trying desperately to make up for the money she was wasting on miscellaneous luxury merchandise. She also attempted making money from her fashion line called 6126. At the same time, she tried to be an overachiever like her role models and did not assume her life would fall apart.
Lindsay Lohan’s Extravagance
Lohan’s extravagant spending practices became a bane in her life too early, decreasing her net worth to thousands from millions.
She was once in the hold of fancy cars and handbags. She also had many Hermes Birkin handbags, which had an approximated price range of about $12000 to $20000.
The actress was not only extravagant but also had a reckless personality in her youth. In 2006, she was recorded to have lost one of her expensive handbags, and an important part of her massive loss was the jewelry worth $1 million inside the bag.
Drug and Narcotics Addiction
One of the main causes of Lohan splurging her fancy bucks was a “party” lifestyle.
The prosperous actress struggled with inclination from a young age and spent large amounts every week on her habit alone. She would also visit several nightclubs for parties, which built a hole in her bank balance.
This addiction made not only her sick but also a problematical pick for directors in famous movies.
Lohan started to receive fewer calls after her drug addiction as she became increasingly difficult. During the shoot of one of her last highest-grossing films, ‘Georgia Rule,’ the actress fell sick frequently, remained exhausted, and arrived late on set mainly because of her drug problem.
She was criticized for her highly unprofessional behavior, and eventually, she began losing out on significant films.
Debts And Legal Affairs
Most of Lohan’s Legal affairs were associated with the huge debts that kept accumulating upon her. At one point, she was so immersed in drug addiction that she would buy drugs worth thousands of dollars on credit.
Overdue taxes were another reason why she got involved in legal issues. In 2012, Lohan owed a massive amount of about $233,904 in due taxes.
According to Nicki Swift, the price had catapulted to $100,710.55 by 2017.
Lindsay Lohan had disappointed to resolve other forms of debt, for example, the responsibility to a limousine company for their services in 2011, where the bill was as high as $100,000. In 2012, she had a debt of about $40,000 at a tanning salon in Las Vegas, leading to a legal battle as a Nevada judge was forced to get involved when things got out of hand.
Lindsay tried out several things in showbiz to recover from her financial losses. She made a few million from her interviews with Oprah Winfrey. But most of her income was utilized up in covering unpaid debts.
