Justin Kohn's Baseball Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

I've had a passion for sports all my life. Especially baseball. I've grown up competitive from the start. Losing wasn't in my dictionary. In every sport I played, I gave it 110%, no matter if we were winning or losing. I'm also coachable and cooperative with any task asked of me. I know how precious playing a sport is when you're heavily involved with them because you never know when it could be your last time playing ever.

I've maintained excellent academic standing despite playing multiple sports a year and having a part-time job. I finished 8th in my class with a 97.24 average. Handling all of that can be a struggle, but I learned to manage my time well and have balance with everything including my social life. I feel that these are life skills that are essential to one's future.

I'm involved with my community and school. I've participated in many community services activities such as serving lunch to veterans at the local VA hospital, packing supplies to soldiers overseas, and bell ringing to raise money for the Salvation Army. In school, I'm a part of our National Honors Society, a member of our SADD group, and attended Boys State in the summer of 2018.

It's been a lifelong dream of mine to play a college sport someday. It doesn't matter what sport or what division. I want more time to enjoy playing sports, being active, and being competitive. Baseball has been my true passion for the past few years and I've worked on improving my skills with a strong purpose. A dream can't be pursued without putting in the time so I'm willing to work for it by any means necessary. I hope to look back one day and tell my kids and friends that I had the chance to play in college.
