John Fuson's Baseball Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

I am a starting 3rd baseman and part of the pitching line up at Danville Community High School in Indiana. I am 5’8” and have a 3.1 out of 4.0 GPA. I started playing high school ball as a sophomore and made All Conference Honorable Mention and received the Next Pitch Award (an award given to one player by the coaches for mental attitude on and off the field). I have been playing baseball my entire life and am in my fourth year with the Indiana Kodiaks baseball Club.  In seventh grade I pitched seven solid innings (the second time that year) to win with my teammates the conference championship. I have a love and passion for baseball and want to play at the highest level possible and believe in supporting my team on and off the field.

Ideally, I would like to play as a freshman, but will do whatever a coach asks me to do to support the team. I would prefer to stay in the mid-west to be close to my family, but am open to looking at other areas.  Off the field my love of the sport continues when I assist my Mom with coaching Challenger Little League, I enjoy sharing my love of the sport with these very special athletes.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, being with my friends, and umpiring for the local girls’ softball league that my sister plays for. I am a member of the student council at my high school and received a National Merit for Heroism from the Boys Scout of America four years ago.  I plan to study journalism and minor in business. Being a reporter or sports broadcasting has always been something I've wanted to do. I hope to find a school that will allow me to grow academically and as a person further preparing me for life after school.
