Ahead of their July 20 fight at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Jake Paul made a joke at Mike Tyson's expense on Instagram.

Along with a photo showing Paul and Tyson shaking hands after officially signing the contract for their upcoming boxing match, Paul included the caption: "The greatest heavyweight boxer on the planet and Mike Tyson."

The fight, which will stream live on Netflix, will pit one of the greatest heavyweights of all time in Tyson against one of the fastest-rising stars in the sport in Paul.

Tyson is a former multi-time world heavyweight champion who boasts a career record of 50-6 with two no-contests and 44 wins by way of knockout.

However, Tyson is now 57 years of age and he has not had a non-exhibition bout since 2005. He most recent fight of any kind was an exhibition against fellow boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, and Iron Mike looked quite good given his age.

Paul first rose to prominence as a YouTuber and actor, but over the past few years, he has made waves in the boxing world.

The 27-year-old made his pro boxing debut in 2020, and he has since posted a 9-1 record with six knockout victories.

Most of Paul's wins have come over fellow MMA stars such as Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz, but he has changed his strategy as of late.

His past two fights were against lesser-known boxers Andre August and Ryan Bourland, and Paul won both of those bouts by first-round knockout.

Paul's only loss to date was a split-decision defeat to Tommy Fury, who is a legitimate boxer and the younger brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

While Paul has undoubtedly been impressive during his young boxing career, there is a belief among fans and analysts that he has yet to truly prove himself based on his level of competition.

Tyson will be his most accomplished opponent to date, but given the age difference between them, it is difficult to say how impressive it will truly be if Paul can beat a man 30 years his senior.
