Duff Goldman has been appearing on TV for almost two decades this year and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, he’s all over Food Network this festive season and he’s busier than ever off-screen as he now has a young daughter. Duff’s two-year-old inspired his weight loss journey.

Many people will recognize Duff from his appearances on cooking shows including Ace of Cakes, Donut Showdown, The Next Food Network Star, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, and the Spring, Kids’, and Holiday Baking Championships. He is a dab hand in the kitchen, but Duff is also a busy family man outside of his cooking fame.

Duff Goldman’s weight loss

In a recent interview with People Magazine, Duff explained that he embarked on a weight loss journey inspired by his two-year-old daughter, Josephine.

The 48-year-old wanted to be “healthier” in order to “keep up” with his young daughter.

Speaking of his achievements, Duff said that he lost 40 lbs in six months.

These days he starts his mornings with a workout in his outdoor gym where he can admire the sunset, writes People.

He’s a family man

When it came to his decision on losing weight, Duff said that he hung up a t-shirt that no longer fit him next tot his treadmill to keep himself motivated.

He added that he didn’t have great difficulty in sticking to his goal because it was for his daughter: “Making the right decisions becomes so much less of a chore because you’re making those decisions for somebody that’s relying on you.”

Because of his parents’ divorce, Duff explained in the December 7 interview that he never thought he’d get married or have kids. But, he’s now a dad of one and he’s been married to Johnna, 29, since 2019.

Charm City Cakes to Food Network

Nowadays, Duff is a familiar face on Food Network.

But, the cooking show star had humble beginnings and opened a cake shop from his home back in 2002.

The Charm City Cakes founder is described as a “chef and artist” on his website.

Per his People interview, Duff has also turned his creative genius to other things including making toys for his daughter.

Food Network fans have been missing the TV show judge after his absence from Holiday Baking Championship this winter. But, he’s likely set to return later in season 10.
