It didn't take long for quarterback Connor Shaw to find a home.

On Thursday afternoon, Shaw announced that he had been waived by the Cleveland Browns:

@Browns Thankful for the two years spent in CLE. Learned & grew a lot! Ready to see where God guides my family next!

The 24-year-old appeared in just one game for the Browns back in 2014, where he completed 14 passes for 177 yards.

While Shaw's release doesn't reveal who the Browns will have as their starting quarterback next season, it does whittle down new head coach Hue Jackson's options.

With McCown, Davis, Griffin and Shaw on the roster, the Browns passed up on Carson Wentz by trading their No. 2 draft pick to the Philadelphia Eagles. They then selected USC quarterback Cody Kessler in the third round of this year's draft, to which Jackson told the media, "You have to trust me on this one," via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Because of the sheer number of quarterbacks on the roster, Jackson told Cabot in May that it was "too soon" to name a starter.

There still hasn't been an announcement of who will start under center in Cleveland in September, but Shaw became the first casualty of the quarterback competition on Thursday. Now, Cook will slot behind Jay Cutler and Brian Hoyer heading into training camp and try to make the roster.
