Nationally ranked Cavaliers upset in Charlottesville
No. 7 Virginia came within inches of opening the Super Regionals with a walk-off win Friday.
Instead, Duke's Tyler Albright snagged Jake Gelof's fly ball at the fence to seal Duke's 5-4 road victory.

No. 7 Virginia boasted a nine-game winning streak at home heading into Friday, so it felt like the game was the Cavaliers' to lose as they headed into the eighth with a one-run lead.
Instead, Duke surged ahead with a two-run inning.
In the bottom of the eighth, Virginia's Kyle Teel reached second on an infield single and a stolen base. Blue Devils pitcher Fran Oschell III struck out the following batter and held the next two to flyouts to keep the Cavaliers from tying the game.
Gelof, who leads Virginia with 22 home runs, was at the plate with two runners on base when Albright made his game-saving catch. Freshman pitcher James Tallon earned the save for Duke, while Virginia closer Jay Woolfolk (2-1) was dealt his first loss of the season.
Horned Frogs continue hot streak with commanding Game 1 victory
One month ago, it didn't look like TCU would qualify for the NCAA tournament.
The Horned Frogs have since won 18 of their last 20 games, including the Big 12 baseball championship and a 20-5 blowout of No. 3 Arkansas in the NCAA Regionals last Sunday.
Add to that list a 4-1 win over No. 14 Indiana State to begin the Super Regionals on Friday.
TCU opened the scoring with third-inning home runs from Austin Davis and Cole Fontenelle to put the Sycamores in a 3-0 hole.

Keegan Watson got his team on the board with a home run in the bottom of the ninth, but Indiana State's first Super Regional game ended with a swinging strikeout.
Oregon snatches win from ORU with final hit
A busy night in Tulsa began when Oral Roberts' Blaze Brothers walked and stole second to open the top of the third by getting in scoring position.
After that, the Golden Eagles couldn't stop scoring.
Thanks to a three-run homer from Matt Hogan and a three-run single from Jake McMurray, Oral Roberts headed into the bottom of the third up by eight runs.

Oregon slowly clawed its way back over the next four innings.
Jacob Walsh and Bennett Thompson started out the comeback with back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the third, and Tanner Smith finished it off with an RBI single to the game at 8-8 in the bottom of the seventh.

After a scoreless eighth, it all came down to the final inning.
Josh Mollerus held Oral Roberts off the scoreboard before Oregon came up to bat.
A pair of walks got two runners on base for the Ducks and prompted a late pitcher swap for Oral Roberts. That's when Drew Cowley stepped up to the plate with two outs on the board and the game on his bat.
Cowley sent an RBI single to right field to secure the 9-8 victory for Oregon.

Rain delay leads to late-night battle between SEC rivals
A ninth-inning push by South Carolina fell short as Florida won the first game of the Gainesville Super Regional.
Will McGillis sent his second home run of the game over the fence in the top of the ninth to get the Gamecocks within one, but Gators closer Brandon Neely held on to secure the 5-4 victory.
The 150-minute rain delay before the game did not appear to phase McGillis, who hit a 400-foot homer on the second pitch of the game.

The two teams traded runs back and forth, heading into the second locked in a 2-2 tie. In the top of the second, another RBI hit from McGillis put South Carolina ahead.
Tyler Shelnut tied the game for Florida with a homer in the bottom of the fifth.

A home run from BT Riopelle and an RBI single from Shelnut gave Florida a two-run lead in the bottom of the eighth, which McGillis cut to one with his last-minute homer.
Neely closed out the victory with two strikeouts in the final frame. Sproat recorded the win after striking out seven batters, while allowing nine hits and three runs, through six innings.
