Betty Jean Vincent of Chesapeake, VA. completed her 84 year journey back home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 8, 2021. She was born on July 2, 1936 in Norfolk County, VA. to the late, Lorenza Holly and Otelia Sutton Cousins. She was also preceded in death by her husband Alphonso Vincent, Sr., sister Ruby Banks, brother Alexander (Bobby) Stith and granddaughter Shanesa L. Vincent.
Betty Jean worked for the City of Chesapeake, VA. as a school bus driver for over 25 years. Betty Jean was a dedicated member of the New Willow Grove Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA. She loved and served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Betty Jean served on the Usher Board, a member of the church Missionary Ministries and supported other areas of the church. Betty Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and friend. Betty Jean Vincent was definitely a “Fashionista” and “Fashion Icon”. She loved fashionable clothes and especially her fancy hats. Betty loved being involved in family activities. She loved to cook and bake, especially homemade rolls and cakes for her family on birthdays and holidays. She enjoyed listening to Gospel music, gardening, landscaping, fishing, puzzles and playing different games on her tablet.
She leaves a legacy of family, faith and love. Survived by her sister Marian Sutton Stith, children; daughter Barbara Jean Vincent, sons Alphonso Vincent, Jr., Anthony L. Vincent (Jacqueline), Carl Lee Vincent (Wanda) and Wallace L. Vincent (Denise), grandchildren; Trammel, Sean, Shontae, Andrea, Carl Lee Jr. (CJ), Anthony and Wallace, great granddaughter; Anniyah Marshall; favorite cousin Sherry Brown. Special friends Patricia Guest and Belvin Bailey. Host of other relatives and friends. Beloved fur babies; Sammy (deceased), Blaze, Santino and Sky. Betty Jean will be truly missed by all.
