Clean House is a Netflix show about home makeovers and interior design. This was first hosted by Niecy Nash and later by Tempestt Bledsoe.
The show aired 10 seasons on the Style Network from 2003 to 2011. In the show, a team of four experts in decluttering and home renovation visit families in their homes to help them get rid of clutter.
Nash declared her departure from the show in 2010 but the series continued without her. Her last episode aired on 1st December 2010.
In December 2010, the Style Network announced that Tempestt Bledsoe, a former cast member of The Cosby Show, would replace Nash as the host of the show. Bledsoe's first episode aired on 15 December 2010.
Clean House is believed to have been canceled in 2013 due to poor ratings after host Niecy Nash left the show.
The show starts with a brief montage that introduces the family that will be helped. The host of the show, along with a handyman, a yard sale specialist, and a designer, assists the family in decluttering and letting go of items.
The Clean House team negotiates with family members to convince them to part with their belongings, which are then sold at a yard sale to raise money for the makeover.
The program has a unique budgeting strategy that involves matching up to $1000 of the yard sale proceeds to be used on the makeover. The show also provides all paint, labor, and in later seasons, the organizing costs.
