Ginger Renee Colonomos was born on January 13, 1981, in Orange, California. She was popularly known by her pseudonym, Ginger Zee.
Ginger was the daughter of Dawn Zuidgeest-Craft (née Hemleb) and Robert Zuidgeest. She was under a year old when her family moved to Michigan.
