Who Is Arthur Chatto, Lady Sarah Chatto’s Son? Where Is He?

Sports-mad After showing up at St. Paul’s Cathedral wearing his Royal Marines uniform, Arthur Chatto, who had previously worked as a personal trainer while pursuing his education at the University of Edinburgh, ignited social media.

The first member of the family to join the marines since Prince Edward is the Queen’s great-nephew, but who is he? The British royal family isn’t exactly the sexiest around when it comes to royal families.

Princes and princesses deserving of pin-ups can be found in Sweden and Monaco as William’s hair recedes further into distant memory.

Who Is Princess Margaret’s Grandson Arthur Chatto?

Arthur Chatto is the 23-year-old grandson of Princess Margaret, and he is currently serving as a Marine in the British Royal Navy. Chatto is the son of Lady Sarah Chatto, Princess Margaret’s only child, and Daniel Chatto, an artist and film producer.

Chatto was educated at Eton College, and he then went on to study at the University of Edinburgh. In 2018, he joined the Marines as a lieutenant. Chatto is currently based at the Royal Marines Base in Poole, Dorset.

He is a keen sportsman and enjoys skiing, sailing, and rugby. Chatto also has a passion for photography, and he frequently takes photographs of his fellow Marines in action.

In 2020, he was named as one of Tatler’s most eligible bachelors. Chatto is currently single.

All About Arthur Chatto’s Dashing Looks

However, one young royal is shifting the balance. Enter Arthur Chatto, age 23, who is the 29th in line to the throne, the grandson of Princess Margaret and the son of Lady Sarah Chatto.

Chatto first gained notoriety at Meghan and Harry’s wedding in 2018, where he (almost) stole the show with his handsome appearance.

Since Prince Edward dropped out of the tough training programme in 1986 after four months, the Queen’s great-nephew is once again in the spotlight after it was revealed he had been approved to train as an officer in the Royal Marines.

An Insider revealed, “He told the Queen all about it and she’s pleased and proud.”

“Arthur has even been going off into the wilds at Balmoral with all his kit and camping out as he prepares for the commando training.”

The youngest Chatto joining the demanding regimen may not come as a surprise; while he was a student at the University of Edinburgh studying geography, he managed to balance his time as a personal trainer at the BoundFitness gym, specializing in “strength and endurance training with a military focus.”

The preparation doesn’t stop there: last summer, Chatto and three pals completed the 2000-mile GB Row Challenge while he was a member of the Combined Cadet Force, which trains students in a variety of military abilities.

The event raised money for Just One Ocean and the British Red Cross. He also seems to enjoy diving in the Arctic and mountain climbing.

Arthur Has An Elder Brother Samuel Chatto

Samuel is 26 years old and 3 years older than Arthur Chatto. They are the Queen’s great nephews and they both are 28th and 29th in line to the throne.

Both the handsome lads are free from the no social media restriction, unlike more senior royals, which provides some much-appreciated insight into their personalities and interests.

Samuel also known as Sam is quite the artist, taking after his mother who is an accomplished painter; his area of expertise is pottery. Sam took matters into his own hands after describing his three-month job working in the commercial art market as leaving him “completely uninspired.”

Sam is now a British artist and maker who works in clay to create both functional and sculptural wood fired ceramics from his home and studio which is located in West Sussex.

And his professional development is quick and his career is progressing real quick. Three of his pots were included in a show at the Somerset restaurant “At The Chapel” after he finished a six-week apprenticeship at North Shore Pottery and traveled the globe studying art.

In addition, he has a storefront on his website. Sam is also a yoga instructor, which he enjoys doing with his partner, vegan blogger Sophie Pipe (@thejoyfulsprite on Instagram).

He spent six weeks in India at the end of 2018 finishing his 200-hour yoga teacher training, an experience he dubbed “very eye opening” to his 59k Instagram followers.

We definitely consider ourselves lucky as we have access to these 2 cuties social media channels.

Arthur’s Personal Interests

Arthur, on the other hand, is a little less free-spirited because he had held a significant traditional position in the Royal Household.

From 2009 to 2015, he served as his late grandmother’s Page of Honor, a prestigious ceremonial position that entails attendance at state ceremonies where the Page carries the Queen’s dress’ train.

These Pages are typically played at events like British Coronations and the State Opening of Parliament by teenage sons of aristocracy or members of the Royal Family.

He used to upload pictures with girlfriend Lizzie, whom he accompanied as his date to Ascot in 2018, however his Instagram account is no longer visible to the public.

He enjoys adventurous sports in far-flung areas, such as endurance rowing, ice diving in Greenland, and mountain climbing in the Alps.

Like his environmentally conscious relatives Princes William and Harry, Arthur was even a member of the youngest team to try a non-stop, unsupported row around the UK.

The row served to raise money for the Just One Ocean organization. He recently made news after telling the Telegraph that he watches The Crown, so he obviously likes his downtime as well.

Yes, I have watched it, he stated, I guess it’s only an interpretation. So I just kind of remember what they’re actually like and don’t let the TV persona mar my judgment of any of them.
