Trevor McKenna's Baseball Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

As the one constant in my life, the game of baseball has taught me invaluable lessons both on and off of the field. Most importantly, I have learned the principle of having a sound work ethic. I take pride in being the first one on the field and the last to leave. I don't believe in settling and will always strive my hardest to reach my best possible self as a pitcher, a teammate, and a student. I believe in the importance of being receptive to all types of feedback, as I am willing to do all it takes to achieve my dream of playing baseball at the highest level possible. As my role model, Tim Tebow, has stated before, "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." As a four year varsity starter, I have also learned the principle of leadership. As a pitcher, you have a certain level of command over the game. As such, you have a natural spotlight placed on you as a player and as a student. I fully understand that I am only as good as my team, and I find great importance in investing in my teammates and setting the best example that I can. This applies to my time off of the field and in the classroom as well. I recognize that my actions do not only impact myself, but that they have a direct reflection on my team as well. I look forward to bringing the lessons I have learned so far to the next level, and continuing to learn in order to be the best pitcher and baseball player that I can be.
