Swamp People star Troy Landry tries to score 100 alligators in just 24 hours during the Louisiana alligator season. Known as ‘King of the Swamp’, Troy notices a “destructive enemy is running wild” and notices something is not right on the edge of the Bayou at night.

Troy Landrymay have caught the 350 gator tags last season, but the Swamp People star is setting himself an entirely new challenge. He planned to get 100 alligators in just one day and got 80 with the help of his co-stars. However, there’s something else catching his attention on the Bayou river.

Swamp People star faces ‘wild beast’

Troy has set the very difficult task of catching 100 alligators in a day. He plans to set Team Landry the challenge of catching 900 by the time the season is over, including at least 50 by him in one day.

As a team, they brought home 80! Now that alligator season is over in Louisiana, Troy is still on the hunt. After receiving distress calls from family and friends, he’s looking into the “spooky” river near his home.

Feral hogs are tearing his property apart, and now he’s facing a wild beast. A destructive enemy is running wild and showing strange behavior, before the animals were “all around” the Swamp People star.

King of the Swamp baffled by mystery

When the alligators went ‘missing’, Troy was left confused. He said: “It don’t look like an alligator climbed up on that bank in 10 years. Wore out is nothing but mud and slides and tracks.”

The King of the Swamp added: “Normally, when you’ve got lots of gators in the area, they climb up on the bank. The sun gives you the digest, the food and all that. We’re not seeing one swimming.”

“It’s like every alligator in the area has just vanished,” said Troy. He said: “Usually there’s no grass on that point, they got it so wore out. What the hell happened? Where did they go?”

‘Never been exposed to anything like this’

After years of hunting, even Troy has “never been exposed to anything like this.” Racing against the clock, Troy teams up with fellow hunters, Anna Ribbeck and Daniel Edgar, to try and save a friend’s ranch.

He says they’ve “got a serious problem now” but managed to put down hog traps to catch the wild beast. Archer Anna told her Instagram followers: “It was crazy out there! Can’t wait for y’all to see it!”

One fan even guessed it’s “voodoo magic” present in the Bayou river. And Troy says whatever killed the creatures in the river, where no alligators live, is a “mystery”.
