After finding fame on YouTube, Amy Slaton-Halterman and her sister, Tammy Slaton, landed their reality TV show four years ago. Since they first appeared in their own TLC series, the sisters are totally transformed, shedding hundreds of pounds after initially weighing in at a combined 1000lb at the beginning of their journeys.
1000-lb Sisters season 5 has been super emotional so far for all of the family members. The ladies are joined on-screen by their siblings who have quickly become fan favorites. Tammy and Amy’s brother, Chris Combs, and their sisters, Amanda Halterman, and Misty Wentworth, all star in the TLC show.
Amy ‘slays’ red coat and dress
Despite being in the midst of a divorce in 1000-lb Sisters season 5, Amy is still pulling through as a single mom as fans say she’s “slaying” her latest look on Instagram.
The mom of two boys took to social media to share some snaps which “made fans’ day” as she looks so happy in them.
Some are taking to Amy’s comments section to say she’s “getting paid,” and more did a play on words with her name, writing: “Okay Amy SLAY-ton-Halterman.”
Another commented: “That smile right there babes! Getting to love yourself after all you’ve been through lately!! You are doing it mama!”

Tammy is ‘shrinking’
Amy and Tammy’s fans have noticed some changes between the stars in the show’s latest season, with some suggesting it seems they’ve “switched roles.”
Judging by Amy’s latest IG post, it’s not only their personalities changing these days but their looks too.
Fans can’t believe their eyes as Tammy and Amy pose alongside a friend in a library.
Tons of 1000-lb Sisters viewers commented how “amazing” Tammy looks, as well as how “proud” they are she’s “killing it.”
More went as far as to say Tammy is “shrinking,” and “…looks like a completely different person,” adding both sisters “look great.”

Fans well up as Tammy hits beach
As Amy and Tammy’s health improves, they’re able to do a lot more activities than they used to. Season 5 of their TV show sees the whole family go on a beach vacation.
Longtime fans of the show will know what a big deal it is for Tammy to go to the beach for the very first time. Some fans were even getting emotional at the moment, tweeting: “Slight wheelchair debacle aside, it’s so great to see Tammy get on a plane, and experience the beach for the first time.”
More celebrated how far Tammy has come, tweeting: “TAMMY climbed those stairs like a champ!”
Another said: “I did not have Tammy flying to the beach on my 2024 bingo card, she has made such a refreshing change.”
