Saturday's Alabama-Tennessee clash is a true toss-up.
However, an Alabama loss does not keep it out of the No. 1 seed in Nashville. Tennessee plays the South Carolina Gamecocks and Kentucky Wildcats in the final week of the regular season.
Tennessee's gauntlet could cost it the top spot in the bracket, and in turn, benefit the NCAA tournament resumes of South Carolina and Kentucky.
Kentucky has two easy matchups with the Vanderbilt Commodores and Arkansas Razorbacks that can boost it into the top three before the clash with Tennessee.
The Auburn Tigers should be a top-four seed candidate as well since they finish with the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Missouri Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs.
South Carolina faces both Tennessee and the Florida Gators, while the Gators also face Alabama next week.
The head-to-head battles across the top six should help Kentucky and Auburn in their attempts to avoid playing an extra game in Nashville.
The LSU Tigers could be a surprise No. 7 seed since they finish against the three worst teams in the SEC.
Texas A&M is on a five-game losing streak and the Ole Miss Rebels have dropped six of their last seven. The bad form of both teams could drop them below LSU, while Mississippi State's tough matchups against Auburn, A&M and South Carolina could add to its loss column.
No team beneath the top six is expected to make a deep run in Nashville, and if form holds in Nashville, SEC fans could be treated to a handful of NCAA tournament-caliber games to decide the SEC tournament champion.
