Personal Statement
I'm Roman West and ever since I was a young kid, I have wanted to play college hockey. My dream is to play Division I on a partial academic and partial athletic scholarship, but I would love to play for any program that I can help and that can help me. I go to one of the toughest high schools in Colorado and they are constantly pushing me to my full potential. With the help of Regis Jesuit, I am an extremely hard worker that sets goals for both myself and for my team, family, and "brothers". To me this always keeps me moving forward which in my opinion is the right direction. I am a natural leader both on and off the ice which has always been beneficial for everyone that I've been connected to in hockey. I believe the thing that makes me different from my competitors, and this may sound cliché?, but it is very true, is that I hate losing even more than I love winning. With that being said, I do know that losing often times allows you to receive the best learning experience, however, the most important thing I learn when losing is that I never want to do it again, and that is the mentality that always keeps me striving for perfection.
