Team Fluff's three-peat bid fell short in Puppy Bowl XX as a last-second field goal propelled Team Ruff to a 72-69 victory.

Tater, an Australian Cattle Dog and German Shepherd mix, did the heavy lifting on what proved to be the final drive of the game. He got Team Ruff to the goal line before setting Cookie up for the pivotal field goal. The Siberian Husky and American Pit Bull Terrier mix delivered.

It's unclear if, like Swift, "Taylor Sniffed" was locked in a race against time to attend Sunday's event.

As is the custom every year, Puppy Bowl XX shined a spotlight on animal adoption and rescue shelters.

"We always say the same message every year: Adopt, don't shop," referee Dan Schachner said to the Associated Press' Mark Kennedy. "There are responsible breeders out there, but it kind of defies logic that somebody who's searching for a dog would look beyond their local shelter or rescue."

According to Kennedy, 131 puppies from 73 different shelters and rescue groups took part in Puppy Bowl XX.
