Who is Patokh Chodiev and What is His Net Worth?

Patokh Chodiev is a co-founder and shareholder of the Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation (ENRC) with a net worth of $1.9 billion. He, along with his partners Alexander Machkevich and Alijan Ibragimov, built the metals and mining empire that has become one of the worldwide leaders in production of ferrochrome, alumina and iron ore.

Chodiev was born in Uzbekistan and lived in Japan before partnering with his pals in Kazakhstan. He previously worked as a leading specialist in Soviet – Japanese economic relations in the Ministry of Trade of the USSR (1979-1989), then as a counselor of the Soviet Trade Representation in Japan (1976-1979) and finally as a special counselor for the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan (1995-1997).

Chodiev is also one of the founders of International Mineral Resources (IMR), a mining investing company, and a member of the board of directors of Eurasian Bank, a leading bank in Kazakhstan. He has accumulated enough wealth to occupy the 287th position in The Forbes World’s Billionaires list by 2010.

Chodiev is married and has three children, a son and two daughters. In 2017, his Belgian naturalization became the subject of an official inquiry.
