Oscar Schafer is an American businessman and Managing Partner of O.S.S Capital Management LP, a private investment partnership he co-launched in 2001. Prior to his successful career on Wall Street, Schafer graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College in 1961 and received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1964. He was an analyst at Steinhardt Partners in 1970 and later became a Member of Cumberland Associates and a participant in the Barron’s Roundtable of top money managers.
Aside from his work in finance, Schafer is a Board of Trustees member of New York-Presbyterian Hospital and President of the Schafer Family Foundation, which provides support to the arts and various social service organizations. His wife, Didi Fenton-Schafer, is also a philanthropist and charity supporter who sits on the Board of the Central Park Conservancy and the Second Stage Theater.
