Neal Mohan family consists of his parents Dr. Aditya Mohan And Dr. Deepa Mohan. Neal grew up alongside two brothers named Kapil Mohan and Anuj Mohan.
Anuj Mohan Passed Away In 2006
Neal lost his younger sibling Anuj in 2006. Born on April 9, 1976, Anuj spent the early years of his childhood in the US before shifting to India in 1985.
Mohan eventually came back to the US for his higher education. He completed his bachelor's and masters at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
After completing his education, Anuj joined KANA Communications in Silicon Valley. Similarly, he was also the founder of the Software Entrepreneurship Lecture Series.
As per San Mateo Daily Journal, Anuj drowned in a local swimming pool on May 17, 2006. While he was initially revived, Mohan suffered brain damage due to the lack of blood flow.
The younger brother of the YouTube CEO remained in a coma-like state in the hospital for almost four weeks before passing away on June 11. The official cause of his death was announced as an infection in his brain.
Anuj was only 30 years old at the time of his death. After his demise, the Mohan family set up a scholarship called the Anuj Mohan Scholarship.
Kapil Mohan Is A Product Manager At Indeed
Neal's youngest brother Kapil Mohan is a graduate of the University of Southern California. He now works as a Senior Product Manager for the American employment website Indeed.
As per his LinkedIn, Kapil's job description includes targeting and bidding optimization. He has designed bidding algorithms that help ideal Job Seeker candidates match with prospective employers.
Mohan joined Indeed in August 2021 and worked as a Product Manager for over a year. He was promoted to the position of Senior Product Manager in January 2023.
He previously worked for companies like Zenreach, Quantcast, The Clorox Company, InsightExpress, and more.
Talking about his educational background, Mohan has a BA degree in Economics for the University of Southern California. He attended the University of San Francisco for completing his Master's in Internet Marketing.
