Personal Statement
2017 was the best my school team has performed in many years. This season taught me that chemistry is key on the court. Developing a family with all of the girls and coaches is very important to me, and I feel this is what helps push a team to the next level. Having the support from teammates focuses my attention on the volleyball court in front of me and I forget about everything else going on around me. Playing volleyball is something I used to take for granted, and it wasn’t until I tore my ACL freshman year where I learned how much I need volleyball. The setback of having a surgery pushed me to work as hard as I could to be back on the court for the school season. I was fortunate enough to be able to continue my volleyball career and this made me fight through every minute I stepped on the court. I know what it takes to move past small setbacks and I have also learned to stop worrying about little things. Pushing for a bigger picture fuels my desire to keep improving at the game I love.
In college volleyball, I promise to constantly be there for my team and push myself to be the best player I can. I am always open to coach and teammate suggestions because I want to keep learning. Volleyball has been a passion of mine since 5th grade and I believe I have the resiliency and work-ethic to be a part of a collegiate level program.
