John Singleton’s Career and Family Feud
John Singleton was an American director, writer, and producer, known for his works such as “Boyz n the Hood”, “Poetic Justice”, and “2 Fast 2 Furious”. Singleton became the youngest person and first African-American to receive an Oscar nomination for Best Director for “Boyz n the Hood”. He had a net worth of $35 million dollars at the time of his death in April 2019.
Singleton suffered a major stroke in April 2019, after experiencing weakness in his legs. He remained in a medically-induced coma for over a week before passing away at the age of 51. His mother Sheila and one of his children, Cleopatra, got into a family feud during his incapacitated state. Sheila reportedly sought a conservatorship over John’s estate to take control over his business dealings, while Cleopatra claimed that Sheila was planning to liquidate his assets to cut out the rest of the family. Unfortunately, John Singleton passed away before the family feud could be resolved.
