Gage Anderson's Men's Golf Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

The first time I went out golfing was at age 10 with a friend and his family.  After that, I was hooked.  My parents bought me my first starter set of clubs and I started with the First Tee Program in our county, attended the Junior League, and have volunteered for the 4 year in the First Tee program each of my high school years.  Since starting out I have not only learned how to better myself on the course but it has made me a more well-rounded athlete.  I love the game of golf and spend most of my time on our local course with my buddies.  My parents always found a way to get me to the course even though it is not exactly close to our home.

I am my own toughest critic on and off the course.  I am playing on the varsity team for my 4th year and lettered each of those years.   As an incoming freshman, I was able to play on the Varsity team for multiple tournaments and did well.  My Sophmore year, I golfed in the top four, for our team. For my Junior year, I was in the number one spot most of the year and ended up 9th place overall going into Region and finished in 11th at the State Tournament.

Going into my Senior year, I have had a rough start. I am golfing in the top five, but it is not where I want to be.  I know I can and will improve.  I have the drive and the desire to better my game on the course.  My goal for the future is to be a great asset to my team on and off the course while improving my stats and position on the team.  I am hardworking, determined, and put in the work it takes to keep improving.  I am a very coachable player and take direction well.

I want to find a college that will work well with my goals to become a better golfer on the course, as well as academics.  I would like to work towards a degree in Education.  In the future, I would like to be able to run a golf program and help better a high school program by coaching.

Thank you,
Gage Anderson
