Former NFL cornerback Vontae Davis was arrested Saturday in Florida for driving under the influence, according to Andy Slater of Fox Sports 640 South Florida.
Per Slater, Davis allegedly crashed into a disabled vehicle. He reportedly told Florida Highway Patrol officers he was "tired" and had consumed two mixed drinks at a club before getting behind the wheel.
The two-time Pro Bowler was booked on a charge of DUI alcohol or drugs on a first offense.
Davis spent 10 years in the NFL, suiting up for the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills. In 121 career games, he had 395 tackles and 22 interceptions.
The 34-year-old last played in 2018. He famously retired at halftime of a 31-20 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in the second week of the season.
Davis explained later in a statement he experienced a sudden realization in the middle of the game he "shouldn't be out there anymore."
"Mentally, I always expect myself to play at a high level," he said. "But physically, I know today that isn't possible, and I had an honest moment with myself."
