Djokovic and the final controversy: He imitates Shelton's way of celebrating by calling on the phone and hanging up

Novak Djokovic, finalist for the tenth time at the US Open, got into another mess at the conclusion of his semi-final with Ben Shelton.

The Serbian has imitated the celebrations with which his rival accompanies his victories. The young man from Atlanta makes a gesture as if he were making a phone call.

Djokovic, in a direct message to Shelton, celebrated in the same way, with the addition of hanging up the phone. A clear message that the American's time in the tournament was over. At the conclusion, Novak said: "I love Shelton's celebration and I copied it, I stole it from him".

Shelton's reaction

"I didn't see it until after the game. I don't like to see people on social media telling me how I should or shouldn't celebrate. If you win a game, you deserve to do whatever you want. I was taught as a kid that imitation is the greatest form of flattery. That's all I'm going to say," the American commented at a press conference.
