Tessa Prothero wasn't Nicole Curtis' biological daughter, but she had supported her and her family and helped in the fundraising for Tessa's medical expenses. She was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when she was in kindergarten.

Nicole even shared her last moments with her before she passed away. She could not accept the fact that the young girl did not have the opportunity to live her life and experience it to the fullest.
Curtis met Tessa for the first time during an open house of the property, and her father, Bobby, is Nicole's general contractor on her Rehab team. Tessa and her family got their house renovated by Nicole which was shown in the two episodes of Rehab Addict.
Many celebrities came forward and helped her, and she got the chance to talk with her idols. For her ninth birthday, there was a flash mob performance with 300 people on the lawn of her house.
Tessa might have left the world, but she is still in the hearts of her family and loved ones.
