Asia Muhammad belongs to the athletic family in Long Beach, California is the daughter of father RonHolmes and mother Faye Muhammad.

The athlete's father, Ron Holmes, who also played under the name Rashad Muhammad was sentenced for conspiracy to commit fraud. 

As per the reports, her father received a loan based on his son, Shabazz Muhammad's future professional basketball earnings while Muhammed was still in college.

Asia Muhammad’s father was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas for fraud. Afterward, UCLA faces its most significant men’s basketball game since 2008.

Ron Holmes clarified to the FBI that he received a loan based on his son’s future professional basketball earnings. Holmes also expected $200,000 to $300,000 a year from the deal after Muhammad's enrollment in the NBA.

Another court document shows that the loan was Holmes’ principal source of income at the time. That said loan came from an unknown marketing company.

However, according to NCAA’s 432-page rule book, no one can have a loan based on athletic skill or a future as a professional athlete. 

Consequetly, Holmes was sentenced to 37 months and agreed to pay $2.5 million for the mortgage fraud scheme.
