Personal Statement
I was raised with a Student athlete state of mind. Which my grades come first before anything else. My leadership skills helps me on and off the court. And my determination helps me work hard in everything I do. I am a workaholic, I study 5 times out of the week, NBA and college basketball. And I work on the moves I see. Not just the big highlight crossovers and moves but the little things like footwork. Everyone around me tells me its the little things that help you go a long way. And my coach told me if you can play good defense you have a good chance of making any team, so I made defense one of my strongest attributes. My defense is like Isiah Thomas in 1989 without the fouling, just good clean hard defense. And on the offensive side I love to attack my defender. Make him stay on his toes, and at the same time conduct my team the way I am suppose to. I know how to make the easy play and sometimes add a little pizazz when needed. One of my favorite point guards is Jason Williams because he can make hard plays look easy. For example he can make a difficult pass through the defense but look the opposite way of the ball to distract the defense so the ball gets where he needed it to be (no look passes). My ambition is to make it beyond the college level and I know its hard but I am willing to do what it takes. I am going to use 6 years of college education in the business/ finance field to help me with my back up plan. I have set big goals to obtain and little goals to keep me on track. I would be most satisfied to play with a coaching staff that encourages the players to strive for what they want and is always looking for opportunities to get better on and off the court. I am always open to learn new things. With my listening, leadership, basketball abilities , and ambitious mindset I can bring a positive impact on a team and a organization.
