Dana White’s slapping wife video was officially released by TMZ on Monday.
The incident had left White, 53, embarrassed, while his spouse, whom he married in 1996, claimed they had both been drinking before the incident occurred.
The pair can be seen bickering in the footage that TMZ Sports released on Monday before Dana grabs Anne’s wrists.
Before the audience separated them, Dana repeatedly struck his wife after Anne hit him in the head.
White told TMZ, “You’ve heard me say for years that there’s never ever a justification for a guy to hit a woman, and now here I am on TMZ talking about it.”
White joined the UFC in 2001 and was instrumental in making it into the multibillion-dollar behemoth it is today.
He is undoubtedly the most dominant figure in combat sports, and this year he is establishing a brand-new company called Power Slap.
“Almost 30 years have passed since my wife, and I got married,” White told TMZ.
“We have been friends since we were 12 years old. Obviously, we’ve been through some hard times together. Three of our children are. This is one of those awful circumstances. Although I’m embarrassed, it’s one of those instances when right now we’re more worried about our children. We have three children, and since the video appeared, we have definitely showed the video to the children and are currently more concerned with our family. I’m literally not offering any excuses for this. This has never happened before, and it just did. People will say what they will say, and things will just be as they are. Anything said is justified. I’ve earned it.”
53-year-old Anne White also released her statement to TMZ.
She proclaimed, “Dana and I have been married for almost 30 years. It would be an understatement to suggest that this is out of character for him. There has never been anything like this before. Unfortunately, we were both drinking too much on New Year’s Eve and things got out of control, on both sides. We’ve talked this through as a family and apologized to each other. I just hope people will respect our privacy for the sake of our kids.”
The two are still together, vacationing. Seem’s like the couple has moved past this incident.
