"We're glad to have him back," said Titans GM Jon Robinson.
The tight end is coming off a two-year, $5.2 million contract he signed prior to the 2014 season, per Spotrac.
Stevens is one of the top blocking tight ends in the league, but he's never made a significant impact with Tennessee with his hands. In more than eight years in the league, all with the Titans, Stevens has reeled in just 50 catches.
While backing up Delanie Walker, Stevens' 12 receptions in 2015 were the second-highest total of his career.
Stevens has had his work cut out for him as a blocker in Tennessee's offensive line. The Titans allowed a league-worst 54 sacks last season along with a rushing attack that ranked tied for 25th in the NFL.
With a rookie quarterback in Marcus Mariota and an underperforming backfield, the Titans limped to a 3-13 finish, securing them the No. 1 pick in April's 2016 NFL draft.
