Its survey of 5,000 women shows three out of four flirt with colleagues and 28 percent have had a sexual relationship. One in five said she would flirt with the boss to boost her job prospects.

Anyone that is against flirting anywhere needs an attitude adjustment. Here in Russia the women love it. D. Miller, Russia
Flirting is the best thing you can do to stay forever young. I work for an airline and flirting is the whole business. It makes you happy and gives you a special feeling. Claudia, Switzerland
Flirting can be a fun and relaxed way of communicating between colleagues. Both men and women enjoy being on the receiving end. It shouldn't be banned in the attempt to block the serious, aggressive offence of sexual harassment. Clare Duggan, Amsterdam

Flirting at work is inappropriate. It takes people's minds too much off work and can wreck their concentration and lower their job performance. Joanne
Flirting in the work place is fine. If it puts a smile on your face and a spring in your step then carry on. A happy worker is a productive worker. Joe Toth, Belgium

Here in the office we all chat, laugh and make jokes to each other a lot, but we don't have the thought of flirting in our minds. If it turns out to be some sort of flirting, believe me we wouldn't get the same taste from our chats or jokes. Banu Yegin, Turkey

Flirting at the office does indeed make me feel better, and I have managed to have two relationships because of this, one of which was with my boss. But it is always good if someone finds you attractive or interesting and shows it, as long as they know the limits. Liz
A woman may flirt at the office for various reasons -- to get the kind attention of her boss, to make the colleagues notice how smart she is, because she really feels attracted by a male colleague or just for her entertainment. A flirt for the first two reasons I would never accept (or do, of course). Angela
We're only human so flirting is thankfully here to stay, but in the workplace it can be quite dangerous these days. Bosses should never engage in flirtatious comments with their staff, but thoughtful and non-sexual compliments can be used. One person's flirting can be another person's sexual harassment and "making a pass" is definitely out. Unfortunately, no one flirts with me anymore but that doesn't stop me. Jane, Germany
As long as both parties are happy with each other and know that what they are doing is a harmless recognition of each other, than flirting is good and fun. Anca, Romania
It's completely inappropriate in the workplace. That's not to say people shouldn't be friendly with one another, but keep it within limits. More often than not, what may be an innocent flirt turns into so much more. Let's not complicate the workplace more than we have to. Meggin Leigh Doody, Germany
