Actress Kate Winslet, who is expected to leave hospital within the next two days, has showed off her new baby daughter Mia to the world.
The 25-year-old star of Titanic, married to film director Jim Threapleton, gave birth to Mia on Thursday, and released a photograph of the happy family on Monday.
She is now expected to take a seven month break from her acting career to care for her daughter.
"Kate is 100% A-OK and enjoying her baby daughter," said Winslet's New York-based agent Robert Garlock.
Winslet and Threapleton, whose new daughter weighed 8lb 9oz after she was born at an undisclosed London hospital on Thursday, married two years ago after meeting during the filming of Hideous Kinky in Morocco.
The happy couple named their baby Mia -- which comes from the Italian word meaning "mine" -- after deciding none of the names they had previously considered were suitable.
Garlock said: "Kate and Jim had drawn up a list of 10 names, but when the baby was born none of them seemed right. Then Mia came to them, and it seemed just right.
"There is no family significance, they just thought it was a really beautiful name."
He added: "Kate said Mia was absolutely gorgeous and that they are all doing very well."
Winslet continued working during her pregnancy, filming the war drama Enigma, based on a best-selling Second World War story by Robert Harris.
