Personal Statement
As you may already know my name is Charlie Beatty. I joined the NCSA recruiting site in hopes of achieving my goal of competing in college for wrestling. So far I have completed my freshman and sophomore years in high school with being in the primary honor roll every grading period for those past two years. I try to keep my grades up the best i can at all times. My father stressed to me that keeping my grades high is more important than athletics in the long run, so i have kept that in my mind since i was a kid. Because of this i received the Scholar Athlete Award from my team for having the highest GPA among them.
I started competing in wrestling when i was just 8 years old. I stuck with it ever since because i loved it. This sport is my passion, I have goals to place in the state tournament for my upcoming seasons. I train almost year round. I go to summer camps for wrestling and i also do a wrestling club called Young Guns for most of the year its available. I also do strength training to help better my wrestling. I also compete in track and field where i run mostly distance events. I decided to do it so I could stay in great shape for wrestling and improve other skills for wrestling. I did cross-country, but i decided i needed to give it up so I could invest more time into training for wrestling. I have started on the varsity team since i was a freshman. I have received other awards such as the most take-downs award and coaches award for working the hardest in the room. I have been on the Indiana Gazette team for the past two years. I always strive to work the hardest in the room because I know that in the long run it will all pay off. I push my other team-mates to work hard because i know that they all have potential to do great things in wrestling.
In the classroom i try to do my best and be well behaved. I always enjoy having conversations with my teachers on the subjects we learn to further gain knowledge. I usually do pretty well in all my classes, but i enjoy math the most, right now I am in a math class a grade level higher than what i should be at. I always have a smile on my face and tend to be happy all the time because it usually lightens up everyone else's attitude.
I am already thinking about my future in life and i have decided i would like to go to college and compete in wrestling. I am leaning towards engineering for my future education right now, but it could change as time goes on. This is because i am exceptional in math related areas and i would still like to be open minded in all the other possibilities in life. Another goal i want to achieve in college is to be a National Champion in wrestling. I would like to find the right school for my needs academically and athletically to do what i am aiming for and that would benefit me along my journey.
In conclusion, this is a little bit of who i am and what makes me unique and what i plan to achieve.
