Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor have opened up about a stroke she suffered aged 33, earlier this year. The event happened shortly after her husband was eliminated from the new E! reality TV show, House of Villains, which came to an end last week.
The couple rose to fame when they appeared on Vanderpump Rules, with Brittany entering as Jax’s girlfriend in season 4, and becoming a full-time cast member in season 6. The massive ups and downs of their relationship were played out on the Bravo show. From their engagement to ‘cheating’ rumors, they had it all. However, they survived and are now going strong with four years of marriage.
Brittany Cartwright suffered a small stroke aged 33
Vanderpump villain Jax Taylor made his return to the House of Villians house for the finale, when he made the shocking revelation to the rest of the cast.
“Minutes after I was eliminated, I made it out there and I got a phone call,” he explained to the house.
“‘Jax, take the phone, you’re wife’s in the hospital’,” he was told as soon as he was eliminated. The 44-year-old then revealed his wife took the phone and said she didn’t ‘want him to leave the show,’ but needed to let him know she’d been admitted.
The former Vanderpump star said he stayed in the hospital for two nights “making sure my wife doesn’t have cancer, doesn’t have spinal issues, doesn’t have MS,” before revealing she had a small stroke at 33.
Thankfully, Taylor revealed that his wife, who is a mother to little boy Cruz, is okay now.
Although the new E! show aired at the end of 2023, its filming began ten months prior, in February.
Brittany opens up about the scary experience
Cartwright herself previously opened up about the scary ordeal on ex co-star Kristen Doute‘s podcast.
“All of a sudden, I started getting numbness in my right arm and my right leg, to the point where I couldn’t even hold my cell phone anymore. And it got really scary because it was happening out of nowhere,” she said, calling it a “really scary time.”
Although she’s okay now, and everything on the tests “came back clean” back in April, the mom of one revealed she still didn’t know what was going on but hadn’t had numbness since that day.
Brittany and Jax made their exit from the hit Bravo show after Season 8. However, they are still close with a lot of the cast.
The pair have remained popular ever since, with Jax featuring on the new reality show. And their time on Pump Rules may not be over just yet, with the 44-year-old appearing in the new trailer.
Fans saw him sit down with Lisa Vanderpump as he shouted: “You wrote me off!”
The new series airs on January 30, so fans only have one month to wait for what is set to be one of the most explosive series yet, as the aftermath of Scandoval plays out.
