Personal Statement
On the field, I am known as Gabe” or Speedy" at Cannon School, Concord, NC. I am privileged to have played Varsity Football under Coach Brad Hoover (former Panthers), as a starter for 3 years. I am a high-energetic athlete with instinctive running skills. When I am on the field, I play with a finishers mentality. I believe in preparing beyond the gridiron for the ultimate success! My football seasons have been an amazing journey, they have given me the opportunity to grow as an athlete and as an individual. My work ethic is contagious, and I love to lead by example, whether it by shaking the hands of all the Coaches/Referees after each game and thanking them for their time (win or lose), by staying after practice to help a teammate or by mentoring a young man on the weekends. I believe that my values, work ethics and talent as an athlete are translated on the field daily. These are some of the attributes that I will continue to exhibit throughout high school, at the next level and throughout my life! During my off-season, I participate in Track and Field, as well as, in speed training with Coach Tremayne Stephens (former NFL Chargers) and Coach Antico Dalton (former NFL Viking).
My love for football has inspired me to become a Sport Broadcaster. My college goal is to continue to have the ability to play football and major in Communications/Broadcasting and continue fueling my love and passion for this sport.
