Being one of the most popular F1 drivers in the world, Lewis Hamilton doesn’t have a shortage of celebrity friends. The Mercedes driver was recently spotted with famous American actress Tessa Thompson. Some fans have taken the opportunity to joke about Hamilton’s apparent choice of only hanging out with tiny people.

Fans believe that Hamilton’s affinity for hanging out with “tiny people” is a result of him being the subject of multiple memes after being pictured next to basketball legends Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal who are much taller than him.

Jokes about Hamilton’s height took a funny turn when Shaquille O’Neal rocked up onto the podium of the 2021 United States Grand Prix. Shaq stood between Hamilton and Max Verstappen and it turned out that even after standing on the podium, Hamilton was considerably shorter than Shaq.
Lewis Hamilton and his short friends
After being the butt of several jokes for his short height, fans are now having a laugh at Hamilton who looks tall in the latest picture of him with Tessa Thompson. Twitter user Storm commented that she never thought she’d see Hamilton being the tallest in a group of people.
Another fan commented that this is the first time they have seen Hamilton look tall in a picture.

Twitter user Lord Danbury pointed out that the other people in the picture must be extremely small. That is the only reason Hamilton looks tall.
Another user, Mahaveer, did not seem to understand how Hamilton was looking so tall and asked if the others were really that tiny.
When Hamilton joked about the Terminator’s height
Hamilton’s issue with height isn’t new. Back in 2015, after winning the Australian Grand Prix, Arnold Schwarzenegger interviewed Hamilton when the latter joked about Arnold’s height.
Schwarzenegger asked Hamilton the usual questions about the race. Before answering them, Hamilton quipped, “Also [it’s good] to be up here with you man. I thought you were taller!.” The two ended up laughing over the comment.
Lewis Hamilton is about 5’9″ which is pretty much average when compared to other F1 drivers. The tallest driver in the current F1 grid is Esteban Ocon who is 6’1″ and the shortest would be Yuki Tsunoda at 5’2″.
